1. Do you need the French baccalauréat — or a Cambridge British route?

This is the decisive fork — not fees, not commute. EFIP is the only AEFE-accredited school in this directory. Students sit the official French baccalauréat général on campus — transferable to French universities, Sciences Po, prepa pathways to Grandes Écoles, and European destinations accepting the bac directly. No other Pattaya school issues that credential. BEST delivers Thai MoE bilingual EP primary, then the published route to BPIS for Cambridge IGCSE → A-Level (฿126K–158K published). If your child holds French nationality and you are committed to the French system through age 18, EFIP. If you want Thai-English bilingual primary then affordable Cambridge secondary without French instruction, BEST → BPIS.

2. French-medium or Thai-English bilingual EP — which language model at primary?

EFIP is French-medium from maternelle — classroom language is French, French national sequencing, French literacy from day one. Non-French-speaking children can enter via the FLSco bridge class at primary (CP–CM2, +฿20,000/yr published) — 12 hours/week Intensive French per EFIP admissions materials. Parent communication is primarily in French. BEST is Thai-English bilingual EP — significant English-medium instruction on a Thai MoE base, Thai literacy alongside English, Thai MoE assessments. Suitable for half-Thai, Thai-resident, and Thai-foreign families who want both languages without committing to French as the classroom language. BEST does not teach French.

3. Full 3–18 French campus or primary-only with BPIS secondary?

The age-band structure differs fundamentally. EFIP is a through-school for the French system — enrol at age 3, graduate at Terminale with the bac on the same Huai Yai campus. No mandatory transfer, no re-application at collège or lycée. BEST is primary-only (Pre-K–Y6) — every child must transfer at Year 7. The published continuation is BPIS on the same Burapha campus network in Nongprue, but the Y6→Y7 transition is still a curriculum switch (Thai MoE bilingual EP → Cambridge-aligned KS3). English readiness is assessed; automatic placement is not published. If you want one campus through age 18 in French, EFIP. If you accept a primary-only start with a published affordable Cambridge secondary route, BEST → BPIS.

4. Can you budget EFIP published fees vs unpublished BEST?

EFIP gives you verifiable year-by-year numbers: ฿175K (maternelle), ฿200K (primary CP–CM2), ฿210K (collège), ฿215K–235K (lycée). You can model a full 3–18 budget with known figures — first-year CP with FLSco ≈ ฿220K before transport and one-time fees. BEST requires admissions contact before any primary budget planning. What you can budget for the Burapha full journey: request a written BEST fee quote, then add published BPIS secondary (฿126K–158K/yr plus ฿31,400 first-year admission at Y7). French-nationality families should also investigate AEFE scholarships at EFIP — net cost may fall below BEST + BPIS for qualifying families, but plan as if paying full EFIP tuition.

5. Huai Yai or Nongprue — which commute and community?

EFIP at Huai Yai sits east of central Pattaya on a ~2-hectare purpose-built campus — typically 20–30 minutes from Pattaya City depending on traffic, closer to inland Huai Yai residential than the beach strip. School bus available; zone fees not published on the public English page. BEST at 253/12 Moo 13, Nongprue sits in the Burapha cluster alongside BPIS, MIS, and TPIS — the densest school neighbourhood in the directory. If you are committing to the BEST → BPIS pathway, living in Nongprue keeps primary and secondary in the same area. If you are committing to EFIP through Terminale, Huai Yai becomes your school community for up to 15 years. Test both commutes at school-run times before enrolling.

Summary verdict

• Choose EFIP if: your family is Francophone or committed to French national curriculum; you want maternelle through terminale on one AEFE campus; the French baccalauréat is the target credential; published fees (฿175K–235K) fit your budget or AEFE scholarship may apply; and Huai Yai commute works for your family.
• Choose BEST if: you want Thai-English bilingual EP primary with 28 years of operating history; the published BEST → BPIS Cambridge secondary pathway fits your credentials and budget plan; French instruction is not required; fees below AEFE specialist tiers are the priority; and Nongprue location fits your commute.
