1. Do you need the French baccalauréat — or English-medium British primary?

This is the decisive fork — not fees, not commute. EFIP is the only AEFE-accredited school in this directory. Students sit the official French baccalauréat général on campus — transferable to French universities, Sciences Po, prepa pathways to Grandes Écoles, and European destinations accepting the bac directly. No other Pattaya school issues that credential. ISC delivers Reggio Emilia Early Years then English-medium British NC primary through Year 6 — designed for families planning Cambridge or IB secondary at MIS, TPIS, Regents, or BPIS. If your family is Francophone or committed to the French system through age 18, EFIP. If English is the classroom language and British primary sequencing is the target before a Y7 transfer, ISC.

2. French-medium maternelle or Reggio Early Years — which pedagogy at ages 2–5?

The Early Years philosophy diverges completely. EFIP runs French national maternelle from age 3 — French literacy, French classroom language, French national sequencing from PS. Non-French-speaking children can enter via the FLSco bridge at primary (CP–CM2, +฿20,000/yr published). ISC is the only Reggio Emilia Early Years school in this directory — child-led projects, documentation as a teaching tool, emergent curriculum. Genuinely rare in Pattaya and the central reason families choose ISC. Ask on tour how the Reggio-to-British-NC transition works at Year 1. If you have experienced Reggio abroad and want that for ages 2–5, ISC. If French national Early Years on an AEFE campus is the commitment, EFIP.

3. Full 3–18 French campus or primary-only with mandatory Y7 transfer?

The age-band structure differs fundamentally. EFIP is a through-school for the French system — enrol at age 3, graduate at Terminale with the bac on the same Huai Yai campus. No mandatory transfer, no re-application at collège or lycée. ISC is deliberately primary-only (ages 2–11) — every child must transfer at Year 7. No sister secondary on campus (unlike BEST → BPIS). Smart ISC families visit secondaries while the child is still in Nursery. If you want one campus through age 18 in French, EFIP. If you accept a primary-only start with a planned English-medium secondary transfer, ISC — but have the Y7 shortlist ready before enrolling.

4. Can you budget EFIP vs ISC published fees — and the full journey?

Unlike many primary pairings in this directory, both schools publish year-by-year numbers. EFIP: ฿175K (maternelle), ฿200K (primary CP–CM2), ฿210K (collège), ฿215K–235K (lycée). ISC: ฿265,064 (EY1 half-day) through ~฿349,200 (Year 6) plus ฿70,000 registration and transport up to ฿29,000/term. At every overlapping primary year-group, EFIP is lower — Year 1 with FLSco ≈ ฿220K vs ISC Grade 1 ≈ ฿334K (≈ ฿406K first-year all-in with registration). French-nationality families should investigate AEFE scholarships at EFIP — net cost may fall further. Budget the full journey: EFIP primary + on-campus secondary on known figures; ISC primary (~฿265K–349K/yr × 7 years) plus a separate secondary at Y7 (BPIS ฿126K–158K published, MIS ~฿442K all-in, Regents ~฿604K). Primary fee savings at EFIP do not automatically mean lower total cost if you later need an English-medium premium secondary.

5. Huai Yai or Banglamung Soi 39 — and what is your Year 7 plan?

EFIP at Huai Yai sits east of central Pattaya on a ~2-hectare purpose-built campus — typically 20–30 minutes from Pattaya City, closer to inland Huai Yai residential. School bus available; zone fees not published. Committing to EFIP means Huai Yai as your school community for up to 15 years with secondary on the same campus. ISC on Banglamung Soi 39 is typically 15–25 minutes from central Pattaya and 10–20 minutes from Nongprue — closer to inland Banglamung residential. Every ISC child must re-apply at Year 7. If you are already committed to BPIS on budget grounds, starting at BEST primary is the published Burapha route — see BEST vs ISC. If you are targeting MIS or Regents secondary, ISC's English-medium British primary may align better — but test both commutes at school-run times before enrolling.

Summary verdict

• Choose EFIP if: your family is Francophone or committed to French national curriculum; you want maternelle through terminale on one AEFE campus; the French baccalauréat is the target credential; published fees (฿175K–235K) fit your budget or AEFE scholarship may apply; and Huai Yai commute works for your family.
• Choose ISC Pattaya if: you want Reggio Emilia Early Years with English-medium British primary; published fee transparency (฿244K–349K band) matters for budgeting; English is your target classroom language; you have already shortlisted a Year 7 secondary (MIS, TPIS, Regents, or BPIS); and Banglamung Soi 39 location fits your commute.
