Three British schools at ฿126K-฿606K/yr — Cambridge IGCSE + A-Level pathways without the Premium-tier fees or IB Diploma option. Different educational philosophies, different value propositions.

How to choose
between the eight.

Step 1 — Filter by Sixth Form requirement

The biggest structural fork is whether your child needs the IB Diploma at age 16 or is comfortable with A-Levels only. The IB Diploma is broader (6 subjects across 6 groups + Extended Essay + Theory of Knowledge + CAS), favoured by US universities accepting either qualification. A-Levels are deeper (typically 3 subjects in depth), favoured by UK universities. If IBDP matters: Regents, Garden Rayong, or St. Andrew's GV. If A-Levels only is fine: any of the eight.

Step 2 — Filter by budget

Premium-tier schools (Rugby, Regents, St Andrew's GV, Garden Rayong, Highgate when fees publish) sit at ฿650K-฿975K/yr. Established-tier British schools sit at ฿126K-฿606K/yr. The fee delta is genuinely structural — premium-tier schools have larger campuses, deeper subject catalogues, full-time specialist sport/arts coaches, and (typically) better-resourced Sixth Forms. The trade-off is real but the cheapest International Baccalaureate Diploma pathway is at Regents at ฿829K. There is no budget-tier IBDP option in the region.

Step 3 — Filter by location

Rugby, Regents, TPIS, MIS, and BPIS all cluster in Banglamung district (10-25 min from Pattaya). St Andrew's GV and Garden are in Ban Chang / Banchang, Rayong (~30 min south of central Pattaya). Highgate opens in Banglamung near Siam Country Club. The Rayong-side schools (St Andrew's, Garden) are 30+ min drives for most Pattaya residents — verify the daily commute is workable before enrolment.

Step 4 — Filter by boarding (if relevant)

Only two operating British schools offer boarding: Rugby Thailand (from age 10) and Regents Pattaya (from Year 3). Highgate plans boarding from 2028. The other British schools are day-only.

Step 5 — Filter by accreditation rigour (if relevant)

Accreditation is what makes a curriculum portable if your family relocates. The most rigorous in the directory: CIS (Garden Rayong — only CIS school in the region), EDT Gold (St Andrew's GV), Cambridge International + Pearson Edexcel (TPIS — only dual-board school in the directory). For families targeting selective UK universities, all eight British schools deliver Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE/A-Level credentials universally recognised by UCAS.

Step 6 — Visit and verify

Once you've narrowed to 2-3 schools, tour each anonymously on the same day if possible (the contrast is sharpest fresh in your memory).
