1. Can you accept pre-opening risk — or do you need nine years of operating history today?

If your child is 2–10 and fits the Aug 2026 Pre-Prep/Junior window, Highgate is a genuine opening-cohort bet on the London brand. If you need proven Sixth Form outcomes, graduate track records, or boarding before 2028, Regents is the only structural fit between these two.

2. Do you need IB Diploma optionality at Sixth Form — or pure British A-Level?

Regents offers both A-Level and IB Diploma at Sixth Form on the same flat fee (฿829,350 Y10–13 · no IB premium). Students choose pathway after IGCSE — curriculum flexibility Regents shares with Garden and St Andrew's but not Rugby or Highgate. Highgate's published pathway is British IGCSE → A-Level only (Senior School from 2027). Confirm any IB plans directly with admissions — nothing is published as of June 2026. If IB Diploma optionality at 16 is non-negotiable, Regents wins regardless of Highgate's London pedigree.

3. Do you need boarding now — or can you wait until 2028?

Regents offers boarding from Year 3 (age 7–8) — operating today, with published enrolment fees and a boarding community already established. Highgate plans boarding from 2028 — two years after the Aug 2026 opening. Families relocating from abroad who need boarding immediately cannot wait for Highgate's timeline. If boarding is part of your plan but not urgent, model the gap: day school at Highgate 2026–2028, then evaluate boarding fees when published versus Regents' current boarding rates.

4. Can you budget with published exact fees — or will you enrol on enquiry-only quotes?

Regents publishes exact year-by-year tuition on Nord Anglia's public page: ฿436K (Pre-Nursery) → ฿604K (Y1) → ฿706K (Y7) → ฿829K (Y10–13). Y1 first-year all-in ≈ ฿718,700 before bus. Highgate does not publish fees — the only school in this 14-school directory without public tuition (June 2026). Peer-reference bands suggest premium Banglamung pricing (Regents ฿604K Y1, Rugby ฿711K Y1) but those are not Highgate quotes. Schools that publish fees publicly are typically more confident in their value proposition. Get Highgate's written quote before comparing all-in — and weigh the transparency gap itself as a decision signal.

5. London Highgate brand — or Nord Anglia global network?

Highgate is the first overseas campus of Highgate School London (est. 1565) — academic-literary pedigree, purpose-built campus near Siam Country Club (FIFA pitch, Olympic pool, Golf Academy, 450-seat auditorium per published plans — architectural renders, not yet verified post-opening). Regents is Nord Anglia Education's Pattaya flagship — 80+ schools globally, MIT/Juilliard programme partnerships, dense transfer network if you relocate within Asia. Highgate suits families who value the UK independent-school brand and can join a founding cohort. Regents suits families who want network portability and proven operating scale. Test both campuses when Highgate opens — until then, tour Regents and read Highgate's published materials critically.

Summary verdict

• Choose Highgate International Thailand if: your child is 2–10 for the Aug 2026 Pre-Prep/Junior intake; you want the Highgate School London brand on a purpose-built Banglamung campus; British IGCSE → A-Level fits your plan; you can accept phased opening (Senior 2027, boarding 2028) and enquiry-only fees; and founding-cohort risk is acceptable for the brand upside.
• Choose Regents International Pattaya if: you need a proven operating school with exact published fees today; IB Diploma or A-Level choice at Sixth Form matters; boarding from Year 3 is required now; Nord Anglia network transfers are part of your planning; or pre-opening risk and unpublished fees are unacceptable.
