Both schools describe routes through age 18, but current availability differs. Garden combines English-medium British stages with Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma; Highgate opens with British Pre-Prep and Junior School while its senior pathway remains phased.

Match the actual attendance offer

Ask both schools to state the child’s proposed class, start date, age cut-off, core hours and following year. Garden publishes Nursery through Year 13; Highgate's opening tariff covers Pre-Nursery through Year 6, with half-day and full-day early-years choices.

Garden is an established through-school. Highgate's August 2026 opening cohort stops at Year 6, Senior School is planned for 2027/28 and later grades need a written opening schedule.

Make language exposure visible

Garden records English as the teaching language alongside Thai, Spanish, French and Mandarin. Ask for the weekly allocation, subject language, newcomer support and transition from British primary into Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma.

Highgate records English as the medium alongside Thai and Mandarin. Ask how British primary stages appear in current work and how its future Years 10–11 are intended to prepare pupils for A-Level selection.

At both visits, request anonymised work and the report format. Observe how teachers explain unfamiliar tasks, differentiate work and support pupils new to English.

Build complete first-year totals

Garden's latest 2025/26 tuition runs from ฿147,000 to ฿609,800. Application is ฿5,000, enrolment ฿60,000–฿120,000 and the refundable deposit ฿40,000. Bus costs ฿18,000–฿32,100 per term, boarding ฿297,000–฿345,000 per year plus a ฿20,000 deposit, and compulsory EAL or learning support is priced on request.

Highgate's 2026/27 opening-cohort tuition runs from ฿375,000 to ฿795,000. Application is ฿5,500, one-time non-refundable enrolment ฿200,000 and the refundable security deposit ฿100,000.

Highgate says tuition includes lunch, snacks, general learning resources and a wide range of after-school activities. Uniform, external examinations, educational visits, bus service, school photographs and designated co-curricular options are extra, but their tariffs are not published.

Create totals for cash before attendance, the complete first year and a normal recurring year. Mark refundable deposits, one-time charges, discounts, every unpriced service and support triggered by assessment.

Plan both transfer points

Garden publishes Cambridge IGCSE followed by the IB Diploma. Confirm which senior years accept newcomers and which subjects operate for the enrolling cohort.

Highgate plans IGCSE and A-Level within a phased British route. Ask for the grade-opening calendar, current OPEC approvals, subject-launch thresholds and the contingency if a planned senior year or option is delayed.

Rehearse relocation after two years. Request the transcript, curriculum map, language evidence and teacher references each school would supply.

Audit support without assumptions

Garden publishes ELS at ฿20,000–฿30,000 per term and prices compulsory learning support on request. Highgate's current ledger does not publish a language- or learning-support tariff, so treat the provision and price as unknown until admissions supplies them.

If support matters, request the staff member, group size, minutes per week, review date, progress measure, exit criteria and price. Separate English acquisition from other learning needs.

Bring existing reports before assessment and ask admissions to state any limitations in writing.

Test the senior pathway with present evidence

Garden publishes an established IGCSE-to-IB Diploma sequence and a 100% Diploma pass rate for 2023. Ask for the latest IB cohort size and average points, current IGCSE and IB subjects, timetable constraints and university-counselling evidence.

Highgate opens through Year 6 in August 2026 and plans Senior School for 2027/28. Ask for the dated year-by-year expansion plan, which approvals are already in place, when IGCSE subjects will first run and what happens if enrolment or regulatory timing changes.

For either school, request a sample transcript, the planned examination calendar and the counselling timeline appropriate to the child's likely cohort.

Compare accreditation and curriculum claims carefully

Highgate received its OPEC operational licence in May 2026 and appears in the OPEC register as school 1120700017. Garden is independently listed by CIS and the IB, while its Cambridge and ONESQA claims remain school-published in the current ledger.

Registration or accreditation still does not make the classroom choice automatically. Compare the proposed teacher, class size, language load, homework pattern, assessment style and reporting cadence. A pupil coming from a British school may map directly into either primary offer, but families should ask both schools to explain placement using actual prior records.

Model discounts without hiding the standard price

Garden publishes scholarships of up to 25% of tuition, reviewed annually, that replace other discounts and exclude examinations, trips and resource funds. Highgate publishes a 3% full-year prepayment discount, 5% for the second child and 10% for each additional sibling.

Keep those reductions below the standard-fee comparison. Ask whether discounts can combine, which deadline applies and what happens if the family withdraws.

Test the real family week

Garden is in Ban Chang, Rayong; Highgate is near Siam Country Club in Banglamung. Drive both routes at arrival and collection times, including work and sibling stops.

Garden publishes bus at ฿18,000–฿32,100 per term and offers boarding from Year 5 in a small off-campus residential-estate house. Highgate transport is unpriced and its boarding is planned but not operating; current official pages conflict between 2027 and 2028/29.
